Article link: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5829110/https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5829110/
The article reviews whether family history has any effect on insulin resistance when immigrants come to the United States. After reading this week’s chapters and the assigned article, address the following issues in a well-written paper:
Explain what diabetes is and some of its causes.
Describe three myths commonly associated with the disease and discuss the stereotypes that they perpetuate.
Explain the association of the American diet with immigrants to the United States and discuss your thoughts on how diabetes could be better managed in this population (not from the medical aspect, but from the healthcare administration and epidemiological perspective).
Use the terms you learned in the class. Your paper should be three pages not including the title and reference list. Reference and cite (in-text) at least two sources in addition to the article you read. Include an introduction and a conclusion to your paper.
Remember to always cite your sources using APA Style format. Be sure to support your paper with references from the week’s readings and other relevant resources.
See the rubric for specific grading criteria.
