Each of the organizations on the required reading page has developed a set of ethical guidelines or standards, which they believe should direct their practices. As a peacemaker and leader, you should have a Peacemakers Ethics Policy (PEP) for yourself and for the organization with which you are affiliated. For this assignment, assume your group is in an organization and decides to develop at PEP. In your group, discuss the ethical guidelines or standards in the readings, the mission of your organization, and develop a policy that includes important standards and uniquely describes the ethical interests of your organization.
Next, discuss your unique peacemaking mission as an organization addressing a particular type of conflict among the many ways conflict is experienced in the world.
When your group has completed the discussion phase of the assignment you should begin to work on the PEP statement and rationale. A good PEP statement will be one that recognizes the common and significant elements of the guidelines and standards and fits the unique interests of your peacemaking organization.
Begin with a summary statement of the identity and mission of the organization.
Write the policy items as a set of numbered statements supported by research and rationale.
