The purpose of this class
has been to educate you about aspects of interpersonal communication you have already
engaged in or will use in the future. Additionally, this class is designed to
teach you how to modify and/or improve those skills to better equip yourselves
to have productive and enjoyable interpersonal communication experiences.
Therefore, the purpose of this paper is for you to explain the intercultural
communication skills that you learned thus far. (10 points)
YOUR PAPER SHOULD
ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS FOCUSING
ONLY ON CONCEPTS FROM CHAPTERS
1, 2, 3 and the reducing communication apprehension lecture.
1. Using your lectures notes and the textbook provide three specific interpersonal
communication skills/terms you have learned about and why you consider
these skills to be your personal strengths. First define the skill/term. Second,
explain why you consider this
skill/term to be a personal strength by providing an example from your personal
experience. This may be an experience that you had while being at school,
hanging out with friends, the workplace, a group project club/organization,
charity, church, family, or in a relationship etc). Repeat this
process with all three skills/terms you chose

skill/term. Second, explain why you consider this skill/term to be
an area where you can improve by providing an example from your personal

church, family, etc). Nobody is perfect, so don’t write that you have no
weaknesses or nothing you would like to improve upon. Repeat this process with all three skills/terms you chose
YOUR PAPER WILL BE GRADED ON THE FOLLOWING
CRITERIA:
1.
Addresses all questions categories thoroughly
and thoughtfully.
2.
Uses personal examples that illustrate the skills you are discussing, as well
as demonstrates your understanding of said skills.
3. Typed, double-spaced, Times New Roman, 12-point font, black
ink, 1-inch margins. *Grading rubric attached
4. Paper should contain a minimum of 600 words of content. The
paper should NOT exceed four pages or be under two pages.
5.
Proper essay format—an introduction (attention getter and preview of
skills/term that will be covered), at least one paragraph per question category,
and a conclusion (review of skills/term that were covered and memorable closing
statement). There will be a total of four well-developed paragraph. This
includes attention to coherency, fluidity, and mechanical/grammatical
structure.
