Discussion question/Participation #1
According to the Center for Evidence-Based Management, “Stakeholder values and concerns represent what stakeholders believe to be essential, which in turn affects how they tend to react to the potential repercussions of the organization’s decisions” (2019). (paragraph 1) By convincing others, stakeholders make the journey to change simpler. Because this is the initial stage in implementing evidence-based practice change, you must collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as a unit nurse. The more motivated and involved the entire unit is, the easier it is to implement a practice change. External stakeholders, such as the community, are particularly important in evidence-based practice since determining the best implementation strategy necessitates a thorough evaluation of resources and needs. The more support for the reform idea, the more likely it is to pass and set a precedent for others. One approach to influencing stakeholders to take an interest in the project’s implementation is to use education. Meetings, seminars, and even emails can help get the word out about a practice change.

Discussion question/Participation #2
In 2021 Faulker et al. Published the findings of their study which aimed to understand the needs of stakeholders in patient engagement. While this discussion question does not address patient engagement, it does address project implementation which directly affects patient engagement and thus, satisfaction. One of the findings from their study across all stakeholder groups is the need to understand the impact of their changes (Faulker et al., 2021). All stakeholder groups need to see the outcomes of the changes they’ve made in real, measurable terms (Faulkner et al., 2021).
Lloyd-Williams et al. (2020) found that there is a serious gap between development and implementation of a project and consultation with end-users. Lloyd-Williams et al. (2020) recommends developers factor in not only human but also socio-economic factors when developing change projects. When major stakeholders, such as ordering physicians, support the change project and are actively involved in its development, the project will be much more successful.

Discussion question/Participation #3
Stakeholders are individuals or organizations with an interest in or who are impacted by quality measures (CMS. Gov, 2021). Important stakeholders necessary for successful implementation of the change project being developed consist of public health members within the facility and teachers in schools outside of the community. Stakeholder support is necessary because they provide resources, skills and knowledge required for the project’s implementation. Moreover, they influence the opinion of the public regarding public change (M., 2019). The project being developed calls for implementation of evidence-based practice within the community to provide education to parents, adolescents, and children within our community. The key stakeholders listed within the facility are important to implementation because they have the knowledge and resources to help distribute my education plan to the community. For example, the medical director and health director of the local health department will need to approve the education being distributed to the schools and community. External stakeholders outside of the community that are key individuals to promote the change project are teachers, school nurse, and the principle in the school setting as well as community members within the community. External stakeholders are important because they will hand out education to parents, adolescents, and children but will need to remain unbiased about the evidence-based education provided. Community individuals tend to research non credible social media sites and external stakeholders will need to be able to provide credible sites to correct false information.

Discussion question/Participation #4
Healthcare informatics is one technology that could help us improve the implementation process and outcomes of our capstone project change proposal: “practice of evidence-based practice for the delivery of the safest and most efficacious medical intervention in a patient-centered way for patients with congestive heart failure.” Healthcare informatics is one technology that could improve the implementation process and outcomes of our capstone project change proposal: “practice of evidence-based practice for the delivery of the safest and most efficacious medical intervention in a patient-centered way to prevent inpatient falls,” as we will use this technology to make use of the available resources, such as devices and methods for acquisition, of clinically relevant most recent medical research.
Discussion question/Participation #5
One form of technology that can be successful in implementing the project change proposal is social media. Social media reaches a large amount of people within a short amount of time. Social media on line platforms, such as Face book and Twitter, are promising instruments to improve population health (CDC, 2021). The use of social media in public health education and promotion has been increasing in the United States, due, in part to its ability to remove physical barriers that traditionally impede access to health care support and resources (JD, 2020). To optimize the potential of social media to improve public health, there is a need to effectively leverage these technological tools to create scalable, culturally adapted health promotion programs and campaigns (JD, 2020). Many individuals within our community have access to social media, or social media programs through their children’s school. Creating a social media evidence-based education sheet and posting it through social media sites such as Face book, Class Do Jo for students would get the information out to the community.

Discussion question/Participation #6
The facility in which I work at is within a large rural area and their patients have many struggles to overcome such as travel and he services. When it comes to caring for patients with wounds, the facility must work with local care services to manage these cares at home. Without these outside facilities, we would not be able to effectively care for our patients wound needs. Within the hospital, patients rely on each floor and worker to hold up to what they should do to care for them. It is up to the physicians or wound care to to help categorize and order proper rotation time frames and medical appliance needs. The nurses must then follow through with those orders. If unable to do so it may be up to others on other floors or NA teams to help out. House managers may also be called to help with finding teams or individuals that can help. My facility had won an award by HANSY for the care they provide and this is something they would like to be able to acquire again (“Bassett Earns State Wide Award for Quality and Safety,” 2017).
